Application submissions for the Good Design (GD) Selection, a design award hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, will begin on May 1st.

Targeting products that have been launched in the market and on sale within 2 years before the application date or scheduled to be launched in the near future, applications will be accepted for the following fields: Product Design, Visual Communication Design, Digital Media/Contents Design, Space/Environmental Design, Fashion/Textile Design, Service/Experience Design, and Craft Design. Special prizes will be awarded for Universal Design, Design for Single-person Households, and Ergonomic Design.

The GOOD DESIGN (GD) Selection

Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, the GOOD DESIGN (GD) Selection has been conducted annually since 1985 in accordance with the Industrial Design Promotion Act. The system which awards government-certified GOOD DESIGN (GD) symbols occurs through fair evaluations of screening criteria for each category, such as exterior appearance and purpose of use, use of materials and commercial production.
